Delivered On Schedule: 5,000 m3/day Integrated Water Purification Plant Completed in Luoyang, and the Work Never Stopped in the Rain

2026-10-08

The 5,000 m3/day integrated water purification plant built by HONCO in Luoyang, Henan Province, has completed equipment installation and commissioning and passed final inspection. The expected construction period was 45 days. Prolonged rain fell right in the middle of the schedule, so the team rearranged the construction sequence and seized every dry window available. In the end the plant was actually delivered within 45 days, on time and to a high standard, bringing safe drinking water to local residents sooner.

1. A Plant for the People: 5,000 m3/day Backing Drinking Water Safety

The project is a public drinking water scheme for the district, designed to produce 5,000 m3 of treated water per day. It is built around an integrated purification process and takes on the job of supplying surrounding residents with a stable, fully compliant supply of domestic drinking water. For a project like this, the schedule is a promise: every day the plant starts up earlier is a day that people benefit sooner.

2. Racing the Rain: Reorganizing the Work, Seizing Every Dry Window

The installation ran straight into a stretch of continuous rain, and open-air work was repeatedly held up. Instead of letting the weather decide the pace, the project team broke the process down and re-sequenced it:

  • Outdoor work when it is dry, indoor work when it rains: during rain the crew concentrated on pipe prefabrication, electrical wiring and individual equipment testing inside the equipment building, and moved to lifting and positioning the large equipment as soon as a dry window opened.
  • Keep the water out, protect finished work: equipment already in place and electrical components were covered against rain and properly earthed, so that no rework was needed later.
  • Overlap the trades, close the gaps: pipe installation, valve connections, cable laying and instrument calibration were carried out in parallel so that one step followed straight on from the last.

That flexible approach to organizing the work is what allowed the plant to finish equipment installation, pipeline connection and joint commissioning on the planned milestones despite the wet conditions, and to pass final inspection on time.

3. What Is Inside an Integrated Water Purification System

This project uses an integrated, packaged purification solution. Its main body is a large stainless steel integrated water purification unit that brings coagulation, sedimentation and filtration together in one piece of equipment, which means a small footprint, a short installation period and simple operation. The supporting systems include:

  • The integrated purification unit itself: stainless steel construction, combining mixing, coagulation, sedimentation and filtration zones for stable treated water quality.
  • The chemical dosing system: solution tanks and metering pumps arranged in rows, with adjustable dosing rates to secure the coagulation effect and the finished water quality.
  • Pipelines and metering: the main pipeline is fitted with an electromagnetic flow meter, so the incoming and outgoing volumes can be measured in real time and the operating data is clear at a glance.
  • Automatic control: a PLC control cabinet with a touch screen supports linked operation of the equipment and monitoring of its status, reducing the workload on duty staff and making day-to-day running easier.

4. What Stands Behind an On-Time Handover

Delivering the supply, installation and commissioning of a 5,000 m3/day water plant in 45 days tests more than manufacturing capacity. It tests supply chain coordination and on-site organization: equipment prefabricated at the factory and positioned quickly on site, critical components prepared in advance, and technicians stationed on site for commissioning, so that the time lost to rain was clawed back piece by piece.

Final inspection is not the end of the story. HONCO will continue to provide operation training and after-sales support, working alongside the owner on start-up and routine maintenance so that the system keeps serving the local community reliably over the long term.

The rain did not stop the work, and the people did not have to wait for water. HONCO kept its delivery promise on time, protecting the drinking water safety of thousands of households.
